Love! What is it that people cannot figure out or spend their lives searching for it? What is it about love that drives so many people crazy while destroying the hearts of many others? Why is it when a person gets their heart broken that they run the opposite direction as fast as they can when the word love enters the conversation? Hearts get broken, that is a simple fact but rather than hiding behind a wall, opens your eyes and realize that your true soul mate waits. Love hurts as we have all felt the pain before but we have ventured on to find the one we are meant to find. Hiding will only leave you in the grasp of the darkness called sad and loneliness. The halls of darkness surround you only because you do not dare to walk the paths of happiness, contentment, and love. Each path we take can be end with sadness, heartbreak, or simply confusion from why it all ended however; how will you ever know if you have found true love or not if you do not dare to take the walk or open your heart to allow it to enter?
I have recently watched friends get their hearts ripped out by love, and while some continue the battle to keep things together, the others are wishing their exes the best of luck in their happiest adventure. Love isn’t about hurting another because it comes to an end but rather showing the heart you have by wishing them the best while you pick up the pieces of your shattered on to take a new path that could brighten your life beyond any dreams or wishes that you could have. I try to get everyone I know to see that even though your heart is broken at the moment, and the future they see seems bleak, it truly isn’t, for their world is clouded by pain while they need to shove that cloud of doom out of the way in order to see the beautiful bright light of love trying to gleam its way through. If we look into the deep recesses of our hearts, we all remember the warmth that we have often felt from the gleam of love however; many allow fear to rule their lives instead of kicking fear out of their lives. Fear is cruel place that we all hide from in so many ways while we can all break free from it if their heart and soul is truly strong.
We all have the strength to fight while many would rather use the words “I can’t or don’t know how” however; that is their way of choosing to be weak or scared to take another chance. Life is a cruel place as we all can see but we only get one chance in life, and I, personally, refuse to look back on my life with regrets or the two little words “what if?” I want to know that when I leave this world to go onto the next superior stage of my life that I left my mark on this world, and in a lot of hearts. I won’t deny that I continue to get my heart broke or that it is a daily struggle to not give up on love through all my different relationships whether it be my husband, my child, my mother, my sisters or my friends but even though my heart gets broke, I refuse to allow my heart to turn an empty bottomless pit of blackness. I could sit here and allow my heart to ponder daily about the many times that I have allowed love into my life just to see it fail however; those loves simply weren’t meant to be or they still would be. There are many things more important in this world to fight against but can you honestly say that love is one of them?
You watch two people truly in love, and yearn to know what it feels like yet you hide behind that cold stone wall instead of stepping out in front it is, and putting yourself as the target. Is yearning making your heart feel fully complete? No, it’s just driving you deeper and deeper into the cold recesses of loneliness and fear. Is that where you want to stay or can you truly explain to me what real love is? For real love is not simply saying those three little words “I love you” because anyone can say them without truly meaning them while true love goes so much deeper than that. True love is finding inner strength that you never knew you had, giving up a part of you that you never thought you would, and putting someone else in front of you. It isn’t allowing someone to walk over you but rather beside you hand in hand. It is about wanting someone to be happy even if their happiness is with another. It is about learning how to control your temper, loving someone enough to say “I am sorry”, and learning to not say things in anger without thinking. True love is allowing another person to see you, inside and out, for all that you are, showing all your faults, weaknesses, and mistakes.
I have always told my children that there are two different kinds of love which are “to love them as a person” and “being in love with someone” however; it is up to us to figure out which one that we feel, and if you truly listen to your heart, it will show you what you truly want to see. I am by far a professional when it comes to love but I allow love to guide me down the many paths of life which I will honestly say that no matter what, I do not regret any of them whether my heart was shattered or not because I was always taught that “what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger”. As we can all testify to that by living through the life shattering loves that we have felt however, we live through it, and have found love again. We have felt the many tests of love along the way, and many of us have wanted to give in while we decided to stay and fight with all that we have.
We get angry, we feel lonely, unappreciated and at times we felt unloved which is where love starts to fail but it is the ones that feel the love deeply that continue to fight for what is within their hearts. If you truly love someone, you cannot give up without a battle or ever let them go a day without letting them know how much you love them, how glad you are to have them in your life, and thank them for allowing you to be a part of their lives. Love is as delicate as a piece of fragile crystal that can be shattered very easily so if you love someone, hold that love very near and dear to your heart, and protect it with all that you have.
Just remember, never give up on love or finding love because in the end, when you find your one truly love – your soul mate; it will all have been worth it, as two hearts come together to make one complete soul!
